The Groomers Helper® History And Development

History And Development

The Groomers Helper®, originally inspired by the AlphaLock, was invented and developed by Dr. Anderson and AlphaM Inc. for use with the Gentle Leader Training Halter. Chuck Simons of The Pet Salon Inc. adapted the AlphaLock to work with grooming loops and made other modifications, thus inventing the Groomers Helper® Pet Safety and Positioning System.

Chuck found the AlphaLocks to be great time savers and decided to introduce them to the grooming industry. In December of 2000, he purchased the entire stock of AlphaLocks in existence along with the exclusive rights to manufacture them.

At his own grooming salon, Chuck asked his staff to rename the Alpha Lock, leading to the name "Groomers Helper," because it effectively provided the groomers with the assistance of an extra pair of hands, eliminating the need for a second person.

Chuck introduced the Groomers Helper® at the N.D.G.A.A. "Grand Ol' Grooming Show" in Nashville, Tennessee in June of 2001. Approximately 40% of all groomers in attendance, including judges and seminar presenters, purchased the Groomers Helper®. The overwhelming positive feedback from these initial sales encouraged more groomers to try it, all returning with the same response: "This thing really works!"

Since then, the award-winning Groomers Helper® has sold over 150,000 units worldwide. It is currently on every table at the largest grooming operations in North America and at thousands of independent grooming operations around the world!
